Contact your legislator to support the Oklahoma Museum of Music and Popular Culture

There are instances in Tulsa's history that are a "game changer" for our community. Projects such as Tulsa's first-ever airport, developing the Port of Catoosa, recruiting the University of Tulsa, and building the BOK Center and ONEOK Field. Tulsa's greatest legacy is its people and the pride we hold for our city and our state. 
 
The Tulsa Metro Chamber supports the Oklahoma Historical Society's plans to build the Oklahoma Museum of Music and Popular Culture (OK Pop) in Tulsa. Bank of Oklahoma has agreed to donate property for the museum, contingent upon the Oklahoma Legislature's passage of the requested $40 million state bond issue. The funds will be matched with $8 million from private donations, including a $1 million matching grant from George Kaiser Family Foundation. We need your help to ensure OK Pop becomes a reality. Please contact your legislator and our northeast Oklahoma delegation to encourage them to support a bond issue for OK Pop. The bond would not require money for another two years, but passage of the bond issue this year will jump start the project.

Following is a suggested message for legislators:
I live in Tulsa and am excited about the new Oklahoma Museum of Music and Popular Culture. OK Pop will have a significant impact on our economy, creating new jobs, increasing tourism and driving further development in our downtown area. I urge you to vote in favor of a bond issue for the OK Pop museum. Thank you.
